Tanya Choice Henry
Cybersecurity, IT Audit, and GRC Consultant at Wisconsin Department of Administration
For the past 15 years while working in the cybersecurity, cyber-privacy, and cyber-compliance space, Tanya has specialized in making cybersecurity concepts operational. By focusing on policy development, incident response, and cybersecurity awareness training, Tanya’s expertise has helped employers secure their environments and provided thousands of individuals with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves, their employers, and their loved ones online.
In addition to presenting on cybersecurity-related subjects at local, regional, and national conferences, Tanya has the honor of being the only African-American woman to have served as the Information Security Officer (ISO) in the University of Wisconsin System (UW-Milwaukee – interim ISO, 2012-2014).
A lifelong learner, Tanya has completed numerous leadership and IT security programs. She has earned an associate’s degree in theology from Grace Theological Seminary; bachelor’s degrees in business management and communications, criminal justice management, human resource management, and business administration from Concordia University-Wisconsin; and, a master of education in instructional technology from Cardinal Stritch University. Tanya’s education and experience provide a unique skill-set which allows her to work well with the audiences varying from students in K-12 education to C-suite leadership at businesses/Government.
Tanya is currently a Cybersecurity, IT Audit, and GRC Consultant at the State of Wisconsin, Department of Administration and small business owner. She is passionate about cybersecurity and actively advocates for diversity in the workplace.
